当地时间9月1日，加拿大总理卡尼在接受媒体采访时表示，美国之前在谈判中的态度，要么是把加拿大的核心产业变成美国的附属产业，要么就是设置条款，希望逐步淘汰加拿大的产业，加拿大不会接受这些条款。卡尼同时表示，只有当美国认真对待谈判时，加拿大才会开始谈。
