9月6日，以色列总理内塔尼亚胡在耶路撒冷与内阁部长们举行犹太新年祝酒活动时宣称“伊朗政权末日将近”。内塔尼亚胡称，以色列“成就巨大”，“但还有一项任务要完成，那就是推翻（伊朗）政权，我们决心促成此事，这将彻底改变中东的面貌和我们民族的历史。”
