9月13日早晨8点47分，G40长江隧道往崇明方向，一辆燃油面包车车头起火。消防部门接报后迅速调集救援力量，火情很快得以控制。据了解，过火面积约2平方米，事故未造成人员伤亡。目前G40通行秩序已恢复。
