据《每日邮报》报道，约翰-斯通斯因超速和开车时使用手机，被罚款666英镑并扣除驾照4分，另需支付诉讼费用和受害者附加费。
事件发生在5月8日，地点是曼彻斯特附近柴郡的纳茨福德。斯通斯承认，自己驾驶价值15万英镑的揽胜“Urban”版时，车速超过限速近50公里/小时；警方还发现他开车时使用手机。
除666英镑罚款外，他还需支付诉讼费用及386英镑的受害者附加费。
