9月15日，印度海军“加尔各答”号驱逐舰挑巴基斯坦海军演习时故意抵近挑衅，在巴海军“胡奈因”号护卫舰附近进行了鲁莽而危险机动。两舰发生碰撞，“加尔各答”号右舷剐蹭损坏，7000吨对2000吨，本以为占尽便宜，没想到质量技术都有问题吃了个大亏。
